E-UPDATE – MAY 2010
Dear Friends and Neighbours,
On behalf of the Parkview Hills Community Association Board of Directors, I thought I would take a moment and provide you with this brief and informative update.
We recently held a successful community clean-up on May 1st, and I would like to thank Board Members Dianne Hilliard and Angela Surdi for leading the organizational efforts. We had a great turn-out and with that, we were able to clean-up three areas in our neighbourhood – Parkview Gardens at Sandra, Northdale/Northline and the Alder Road ravine.
I’m sure many of us heard about the incident in our community involving a tractor-trailer crash near Alder Road. The Toronto Star, and a number of other media outlets, posted news stories on their website. Further information can be read online at http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/crime/article/804752–tractor-trailer-crashes-on-east-york-side-street
This past Wednesday, a number of our Board Members were volunteering on McHappy Day at local McDonald’s Restaurants that were raising funds for Toronto East General Hospital and the new emergency paediatric unit. A great time was had by all!
Finally, some of you may have seen a police cruiser and some yellow tape at the ravine near the intersection of Northdale and Northline this past week. A suspicious item was found and the police did their due diligence and sent it off for investigation. While this was happening, the scene had to be secured. After a brief investigation, it turned out that everything was fine and there is nothing for us to worry about.
Please mark down these upcoming dates in your calendar.
We hope to see you there!
